MOCK MASONIC FUNERAL PROCESSION

Framed engraving of a mock Masonic funeral procession passing Somerset House in the Strand, London, dated 27th April 1742. In 1741 Grand Lodge had prohibited the publishing of anything concerning Freemasonry; and in the following year a mock procession was got up by people calling themselves Scald Miserable Masons.
